Define your own Open Knowledge Space

This is where you will find all the tools that together form this Open Knowledge Space. The aim of this collection of tools is to power collaboration and knowledge sharing amongst communities of users.

Each tool contributes a different form of usability to the OKS. Which are most suitable to you depends on your activities, interests and needs. So, feel free to experiment and try out each resource until you settle on the combination that is most useful and productive for you or your community. Please let us know your experience by providing feedback here.

What are you looking for?

This search tool utilises linguistic meaning, rather than ranking algorithms, in order to help you find the content that is most relevant to your enquiry. Use it to explore the OKS, or to locate and access knowledge that may be useful to you.

This visualisation tool offers a radically different way of organising information (and search results): into dynamic and non-linear diagrams. Use it to get an overview of search results, or to map out relationships and connections between information that might not be immediately apparent from a linear list of text.

A new way to work together

This collaborative editing tool allows a group to create and edit documents remotely. You can use it to share your work and get feedback and contributions from others, as well as to co-author materials that require community involvement.

Help others get to know you

This tool enables you to create a personal knowledge profile, in which the kind of information that you want known about yourself can be shared. This could include details and links to your research, projects and publications, as well as your contacts and the communities to which you belong.

Get involved in knowledge management

The OKS wiki facilitates collaborative editing of resources relevant to the entire community, and which require constant debating and updating. It enables each individual member of the OKS to get involved by sharing the knowledge that they have, and collaborating with others in order to put that knowledge into the service of everyone.

Share your ideas

A blog allows users to share their thoughts, opinions, ideas and more to the broader public. As part of the OKS, a blog will enable you to extend your personal profile by writing regularly about your areas of expertise and interest.
